A gentle, yet effective cleanser great for the first step of your nightly routine.

First thing to say about this cleanser, is that while it’s marketed as fragrance-free, there is Rosemary Oil in this cleanser. Rosemary Oil contains a well known irritant called camphor which can cause redness and irritation for those with dry and sensitive skin. Rosemary Oil is a known antibacterial ingredient, and the many positive reviews about this product are hard to ignore. This cleanser is great for regular and oily skin, as it’s non-comedogenic formula works to break apart daily grime and makeup without further clogging your pores.

What the heck is a non-comedogenic formula, I hear? Non-comedogenic is just a fancy way of saying that it doesn’t clog your pores or cause blackheads, which.. you know is really handy in a cleanser! This cleanser does a great job at extracting the sebum (white gunk) collected in pores and leaving a clear base for you to come in behind with your water-based cleanser.

Well suited: regular, oily skin, above 16 years of age, and those under 40 years of age 

Well suited, but be wary: dry, combination, acne-prone, mature, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, sensitive skin, pregnancy, and those 40 years of age and over (we note that there is Rosemary Oil in this product, which is an essential oil and has a strong fragrance - if you find that natural fragrance is a known irritation for you and your skin, then this product isn't for you)

Not well suited: rosacea, children 16 years of age and under, pregnancy and those wanting to avoid fungal acne triggers

Benefits

  • A much milder form of the original formula that is great for oily skin and packed with ingredients that help oil and water mix nicely so they don’t clog your pores
  • Contains soothing Heartleaf (Houttuynia Cordata Extract) that has long been used in Chinese medicine. It’s anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are wonderful additions to cleansers as they prevent the skin from becoming too inflamed

Targets

  • Oily skin that becomes easily clogged by oil cleansers (thank you non-comedogenic formula)
  • Skin built up by daily sweat, makeup and sunscreen

How to use

  • Pump two to three times onto clean hands and massage the oil onto your dry face, working it into the skin to remove all daily grime and makeup
  • Add a small amount of water to your hands and rub into your face, which will emulsify the cleanser into a white substance (emulsifying helps to further lift any sunscreen/make up and also makes it far easier to rinse the cleanser off)
  • Rinse the cleanser off and follow up with a water-based cleanser onto damp/wet skin
  • This product can be used twice, daily. We recommend it's used as part of your nighttime double cleanse routine

Important notes:

  • If you have high sensitivity to natural fragrances, then be aware that this contains a small trace of essential oils
  • Due to the use of Ethylhexyl Stearate and multiple esters, this product isn’t deemed fungal acne safe

  • Always patch test in inner elbow before use, especially if you have sensitive skin
  • Discontinue use if signs of irritation appear
  • For external use only
  • Avoid contact with eyes
  • Do not apply to broken or inflamed skin
